Álex Darío Aguinaga Garzón, born in Ibarra, Ecuador, on July 9, 1968, is a former Ecuadorian soccer player considered a soccer legend in his country and Mexico. He stood out for his talent, technique and vision of the game, playing as a midfielder. He played mainly for Deportivo Quito and Liga de Quito in Ecuador, and for Necaxa and Cruz Azul in Mexico. With Necaxa, the club where he played for 14 years, he won several titles, including three league championships and a Concacaf Champions Cup.
